The five-course dinner, prepared by Fairmont Hotel Vancouver executive chef Cameron Ballendine, is paired with nine wines from Italy, France, Australia, Canada and Portugal.

“We look forward to seeing you all on February 11,” says Jana Maclagan, Bacchanalia Gala chair. “We will be celebrating our love of wine, an early Valentine’s Day, and Canada’s 150th birthday – we guarantee an amazing experience. Bring the friends you love, friends who love wine, friends who love perfectly paired food and wine dinners, friends who love Shakespeare, and your friends you would just really like to spend an evening with. There promises to be something for everyone.”

The evening also includes live and silent auctions featuring rare wines, epicurean getaways and unique culinary experiences featuring chefs and sommeliers from the West Coast’s top restaurants. A must for any serious wine collector! The Wine Committee is still gathering donations for the live and silent auctions. If you have something in your wine cellar that would make an exciting auction item, contact gala manager Kelly Snider by November 30.
Tickets are $450 or $3600 for a table of eight. Corporate tables with exclusive benefits are available for $5500. Gala ticket information is available at gala@vanwinefest.ca or 604.637.3098.

The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver offers a special room rate for Gala guests of $179/night. Make a worry-free night of it and stay safe! For details, contact Kelly Snider.

Supporting Bard on the Beach

Proceeds of the Bacchanalia Gala Dinner + Auction go towards supporting the work of Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival, one of Canada’s largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare festivals.

The partnership with VanWineFest helps Bard maintain its signature high artistic standards and its educational programs, including Young Shakespeareans Workshops for 8-18 year-olds at its Vanier Park site during the summer, and Riotous Youth for 19 to 24-year-olds. During the school term, The Festival also offers workshops for educators and youth in schools and community centres throughout BC’s Lower Mainland, as well as at its new administrative home, the BMO Theatre Centre (162 West 1st Avenue).
