Applications for the 2018 festival will open on May 1, and close May 31, 2017.
The 40th annual festival will feature Portugal and Spain as the theme countries.
VanWineFest is a curated festival. Winery applications must be submitted by a registered and active BC wine agent on behalf of suppliers they represent in the BC market. Applications are reviewed by a knowledgeable Winery Selection Committee and selected wineries announced in the fall.
Each winery selected to participate will showcase products at each of the six sessions in the International Festival Tasting Room. Two afternoon sessions are dedicated to members of the trade including buyers, retailers and chefs. The three evening sessions expose the public to the outstanding wineries and wines featured at the festival, and a Saturday afternoon tasting is open to the public and trade. Participating wineries have the additional opportunity to showcase their products in a range of events over the week – including winery dinners, regional lunches, a Sunday brunch and seminars, as well as a comprehensive trade program.
