Looking Back at VIWF 2022
It’s been three months since the 2022 Vancouver International Wine Festival welcomed the wine world back to Vancouver. After a one-year hiatus, we were thrilled to return with another fantastic week for lovers of wine and food.
The festival kicked off on Monday, May 16 with a Media Launch at JOEY Bentall One and ended on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a Spring Fling! Highlights included the return of an in-person Bacchanalia Gala Dinner + Auction, presented by National Bank Private Banking 1859, winery dinners, seminars, lunches, a California Wine Beach Party, and of course the International Festival Tastings, where all our participating wineries gathered to share their select wines with eager wine lovers. It might have been a smaller festival, but the enthusiasm at the events was enormous.
Brush Up Your Shakespeare at Bard on the Beach
It’s a summer tradition in Vancouver – Shakespeare in Vanier Park – and after a two-year hiatus, Bard on the Beach is back bringing the best of the Bard to Vancouver audiences.
Choose between two spectacular shows under the tents: A Midsummer Night’s Dream on the mainstage and Romeo and Juliet in the studio stage, both running until September 24. And if you attend a performance between August 23-28, you could make history as Bard’s two-millionth patron!
Celebrate Italian Wine!
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada West celebrates its 30th anniversary on September 29 with a spectacular gala dinner at the Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel. Partial proceeds benefit Variety – The Children’s Charity.
La Grande Festa (The Big Party) will feature an evening full of surprises and delights, with a superior culinary experience that includes an exclusive menu inspired by authentic Italian products from different regions of Italy, premium Italian wines, guest gift bags with authentic Italian products, door prizes, and a silent auction of Italian-made and designed items. The gala dinner will open with a keynote speech from Vanni Sartini, Head Coach of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Tickets are $299 + GST, but VanWineFest e-news subscribers save $60 with the code ITALIANWINE (or $600 off a table of 10 with code ITALIANWINE10).
